MARITIME PRACTICE

ABOUT US
Our journey into the world of sail began with the collaboration with famous tall ships Kruzenstern and Sedov in 2015. Within 6 years, we completed 65 sail training voyages onboard tall ships Kruzenstern, Sedov, Wylde Swan, Christian Radich and Amazone. We took part in the circumnavigation of the world and important international regattas such as Tall Ships' Races.

Since 2020 we started polar voyages to the Arctic and Antarctica on tall ships of ice class and yachts. In 2021 Maritime Practice joined AECO – the International Association of Arctic Expedition Cruise Operators, which sets the requirements for the responsible, environmentally friendly and safe tourism in the Arctic. Our voyages strictly follow the rules set by the Association.

With Cyprus based headquarter and the office in Croatia, the company organises sail training voyages worldwide.
The Arctic and Antarctica under sail
Our story
Geography, fleet & science
We have the largest sailing polar fleet and we offer people a chance to have a sail training voyage to high latitudes of the Arctic and Antarctica in the most ancient, beautiful and environmentally friendly way – under sail.

What is more important: we are not a travel agency. We are an educational center and we work according to the standards of the International Yacht Training which are recognised all over the world. The highest educational standards and safety onboard have been our key priority from the moment our company was founded in 2015.

As a training and educational center, we believe that you don't need any experience to try sailing, but the desire to learn is a must. The best way to learn sailing is to immerse yourself in life onboard during a voyage. With us you will literally learn your ropes, you will set sail and steer. Our team of professional instructors will teach you all you need to know and will take care of your safety onboard.
The geography of our voyages includes Greenland, Antarctica and Tierra del Fuego. We aim to show our trainees the most magnificent places on our planet from the best modern sailing vessels.

Our fleet consists of the ice-class sailing schooner Amazone and sailing yachts Wind Dancer, Mon Coeur and Aurora. You can find more about them here.

The purpose of our voyages is not just educational but also scientific. In 2021 we started a new programme called Science and Education at full sail. From now on we will conduct marine research and environmental monitoring on behalf of various research institutes. We will also organise lectures about the environment and its issues and get our trainees engaged in the science projects based on the principles of civil science.
Lev Rodsteyn
The leader of Maritime Practice
"All my life is dedicated to sailing. As an ex-Navy officer, Yachtmaster Ocean qualified instructor, International Yacht Training and Royal Yachting Association member and a participant of the Clipper Round the World regatta (2011-2012), I believe that the more people sail, the better.

The love for sailing led me to creating an educational center Maritime Practice that specialises in sail training voyages on tall ships.

As a team of qualified and experienced instructors, we undertake sail training voyages in Greenland, Iceland, Antarctica and Tierra del Fuego"
